K30 with a big block question?

What does @skunked have on the l29 hes putting together?
Based on pictures I see serpentine pulleys being painted black, so probably the L29 stuff. Found a decent price on a local block but it says "accessories not included" so I'm not sure if the brackets would still be there or if they'd be gone too.

Are you looking for a big block?

I'm looking for more horsepower. Still have the dreams of building a 400+ horsepower big block. If the right deal comes along. So I browse the local CL and FB stuff for 454's.
Dude a big block can sneeze and make that much

And my 350 is 400+ HP. Coincidence?

yes I’m sticking with the L29 brackets and pulleys.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do a turbo setup. I would need it in kit form.
As fun as throwing a hair dryer on there would be, I think Ian has $2000 in the kit he bought for his L29. Came with the cam, linked roller lifters and roller rockers. We will have to measure for custom pushrods.

But it's a proven combination with the vortec heads to make 400+HP and 550 tq. Stock rods/pistons.

The factory TBI trucks will make 385 HP with no other changes than just running a carb. I’d think any half decent injection will reach that

I would like to know what cam that is because I haven’t seen a gen 6 make that much torque with stock heads and pistons. I’m shooting for 450/510.

The stock l29 is 410ftlbs.... It's pretty realistic for a mild cam and a tune to hit 510

I read somewhere that they were good for a lot more than that. Did not know if it's true or where I seen it. :dunno:

If a fella was to find an L29 that doesn't have the accessories, will the accessories from a Mark IV swap over?
I think @nvrenuf did the opposite so I'm thinking it should be doable.

I used SBC brackets with a Kwik Performance adapter kit on my Mark IV.
I highly recommend this if you want the accessories tightly packaged.

Straub Technologies is where he got the kit from. Here are the cam specs:

Adv Duration 267 285
Valve lift 1.7 ratio .553 .481
Centerline 109 113

He got 1.7 ratio Roller rockers, rocker studs, Morel lifters, valve springs, locks and retainers.
