Does anyone know..... if i install a rear wind spoiler from a burb can I drive with the rear window open without fumes coming in. I have a 91 jimmy and I can source a 90 burb spoiler.

It helps some, but how is the exhaust routed?

Bent is on to something. If the exhaust dumps straight out the back under the bumper you’ll have exhaust fumes if you even crack the rear window.

The factory dumped the exhaust to the side of the truck under the quarter panel between the wheel opening and bumper.

The shape of the Blazer creates a large low pressure area right behind the truck. Opening the back window allows it to suck into the truck.

I’ve driven in the rain with the rear window down only a couple of inches and had so much spray from the tires get sucked in the back of my head got wet and there was water dripping off the rear view mirror inside. Gives an idea how much it sucks off the back of the truck.

So yes,the exhaust is exiting from the stock location, between the tire and bumper

From experience, the deflector only helps to about 2 inches down on the window. The low pressure zoo mentioned comes from both sides, under and over the truck. The deflector can only compensate a little.

Soft top guys fight this a lot. Side exit is usually the key. I've had setups that worked OK with the exhaust exiting under the truck (completely wrong) but a small change in ride height made it undrivable till I did the side exit. No idea what the magic was that changed things but side exit is reliable.
