This is probably in the wrong forum.. if it is.. sorry mods...

Anyhoo I just got a Ford Econoline 350 cube van for parts hauling and possible ( after beefing up ) towing. Even though towing a chevy with a ford is SO SO WRONG. Problem is it didnt come with ANY door keys. Im told I need a keycode to get a new key made and a VIN/TITLE/ID isnt enough anymore.

Its a long shot but does anyone know where I can locate this keycode on the van? I dont have any owners manual or any original documentation and the door stickers dont seem to tell me much. I read online that sometimes stickers with the info are in the glove box but go figure, fords bigass van doesnt even have a glove box!

Thanks

Some dealers can cut you a key from the vin number. Providing the keys/lock have never been changed. At least a chevy dealer could if it were new enough and still in the books.

If you can't find it, just buy two new locks and keys. Problem solved.

what year is the van? kind of an important fact

glovebox(on the newer E series anyway) is attached to the dog house. Someone might have gotten rid of it on yours.

Its a 1990 ( ex RYDER van )

Maybe I will just weld the doors shut to prevent theft :-)
