I just got a laser diode... It's really cool. My vision's all screwed up now, but the laser is cool.
Those are fun to tease the dog with, drives them crazy.
Ratch, resist the temptation to point it at helo's and other aircraft...
what is a laser diode? whats it for? and how does it differ from a laser-pointer, other than sounding more sophistocated and expensive
ye ask and ye shall reicieve. No pun entended
Awesome, thanks for the link... I'm hoping I can modulate the laser to transmit audio to my bike helmet. Hopefully with less components than I'd need using RF, I justneed to figure out how to transmit stereo, like composite left+right.
I will avoid pointing it toward the sky, too...
No shining in the eyes. Just ask that little boy who got pinned down and was blinded with a laser pointer.
Just out of curiosity, what class laser is it? It should be labeled in the pointer itself.
I think it's a class III. It's not a pointer, it's the actual laser diode with a collimator and control board. Yeah, so I guess it's a pointer...
Typically, they are IIIa or IIIb.
Thanks. I'm reading up on all the dangers before I go crazy with it. I might skip using it on the bike...
