So after finding out that we had to remove the front clip on my friends blazer to get the engine out because the engine hoist we used doesnt lift high enough. I decided rather than doing all that extra work when it came time to removing my engine, I would just go get a real mans engine hoist from work:D.

Ha, that's funny...did you get teh new engine yet?

P.S. it wasn't that much work to take the front clip off (zip wheel) or get it back on (welder).

That would work great and if you forgot a bolt or some wiring you could just shake the piss out of it till it came out.

No doubt! I think the dictionary defines an engine hoist as a tool used to test the tensile strength of the things you forgot to disconnect:haha:

Isn't it great having the proper tool for the job.

I wish now I had taken pics of my cab swap. I did it with an international boom truck.

Good job. Running and broken-in by next weekend?:haha:

Yes I have been building a 383 to replace the tired stock tbi engine. It came out of Noahrobs blazer when he went to tpi. With all luck it should be finnish being put together by tomorrow and I can get it put in this weekend. I want to have it in and broke in before I go to Pismo for Memorial Day weekend. I dont know if I can get it done in less than a week:crazy:? Wish me luck. It really helps being a heavy equipment operator and having use of a backhoe when ever I need it:D.

Have you gotten the engine back from the yet? If not, when will you get the engine so you can install it?

Yup going to Pismo Memorial weekend, had to get my camping passes about 4 monthes ago because they sell out quick. The only problem is that if I dont get the engine in before then I wont have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it out on the sand with. I Know that a bunch of the guys from The NorCal Big Dawgs will be out there that weekend so if I have to take my girlfriends 2wd 4runner I might need some help getting pulled around (umm... Ryan B).

dang...wish I could make it out there I really want to meet more of you guys...that and Oceano is a blast! I can't wait to get my truck there and see how it does...the goal is to have 5.13's, a front driveshaft and replace the back two tires before the second week of July (when we go for a week...annual family vacation).
I'm graduating June 8th so I'll have about a solid month to work my ass off and get the $$$ to get it all done :) Hope I make it!

If you go take lots of pics!
