My tuck lite lights have great distance but its a 8 inch round light also.
The LED light bars, even in the spot or high speed spot can only reach about 300 to 350 meters/ 984 to 1148 feet max at 1 LUX. Anything below 1 LUX is not enough to really see something. Some LED manufacturers claim 1100m/3608 feet distance, but at .25LUX, so worthless....
Hella does state their distances as max at 1 LUX. For the Rallye 4000 LED it is 540 meters/1771 feet, the Hella 4000 Xenon Euro beam reaches about 500m/1640 feet, the 4000 Xenon Pencil reaches 1290m/4232 feet.
That is quite a bit more than the LED bars can do. The only way to get more distance out of an LED is to shine it into a reflector and then project it out. Hella is the only LED light doing that, therefore getting huge distance.
I´m sure your truck lite 8" lights are bright! But I doubt they´ll reach the distance a good HID does. BUT it also depends on if you really need all that distence. If you just do slow wheeling, you don´t need a light that shines for about a mile. Another thing is, what you are running for headlights. If you run sealed beams (candles) or even a good H4 halogen light, the high beam might reach 150-200m/ 492-656 feet MAX, so an LED bar that reaches 300m/ 984 feet already helps out significantly. In my case, I run Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon (HID) headlights. The high beam on those already reaches a good 300-350m/ 984-1148 feet. So A driving light bar that doesn´t shine further than my headlights doesn´t do me any good.

Therefore I need something to reach a lot further to even make a difference.
Everybody needs to decide for themselves what works and what they need for their type of wheeling. I´m just giving my experience on what Lights I have been running and what I found out about them.
And of course, once you get used to a certain distance on lights, it is hard to go back to something that projects shorter!
