I am thinking of buying a 74 chevy C20 and i was wondering if there was a lift kit for them. Do not want to go very big maybe 3-6 inches.

Assuming that the seller knows that a C20 is a 2WD 3/4 ton, not so much, no. K20 would be the designation for a 4WD three-quarter.

The IFS in the 2WD means lifting it would be insanely complicated. (There are 2-4" drop kits though :haha: )

You could convert it to 4WD, though there's enough involved you'd need a 4WD donor to swap all the parts from ... so you'd be better off buying a 4WD truck from the get go. There are LOTS of ways to lift the straight-axle trucks.

I have a '93 C2500 that I am just starting to convert to 4wd, I got the truck for next to nothing and have been craigslisting parts, I have a divorce NP205, front 6" lift springs, the shocks that came with them, and a dana 44 front axle, in all I have less than $500 invested and I can fabricate all the brackets myself. there is still a lot of "small stuff" (crossover steering, brakes) that needs to be considered but I have no time limit and I enjoy building stuff from scratch so don't think it can't be done for cheap but don't expect to go wheeling with it next weekend.

Shawn needs to chime in. He's Supersize-something-something-something.

this is just going to be a ranch truck and a hauler it is only 500 and i just want it alittle higher and i have an 83 jimmy 4x4 for my play toy

I bought a lift kit,(3 inch) for my 1979 C10 I had back in 1985, looked great, It was just front coil springs and rear lift blocks. I put new ball joints and all that on when I did it. Hell, I drove that truck for 6 more years before I sold it and I never had any problems. I think the springs were "Rough Country" springs if IRC. Another thing to look at is some stock front springs from a late 70's- 80's Ford F150 4x4.

I would do the body lift for ease and low price. It's only a ranch truck an it wouldn't affect the suspension in any way
