Lift Kit reccomendation???

I am a BDS fan. Nice ride and an awsome warranty. Good flex for a production pack too.

Harley, my BDS ride like yours cause I have the correct number of shocks... -> 4 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif We still don't know how yours do after a jump.

I am almost done with My cage and seat mounts. Time to start thinking about the outside. What company and kit would anyone like to reccomend for 4" lift on a 76 cheyenne. I want to run 36's and my wheel fenders are already cut out. I can get a good discount on Sky jacker, Rancho, Superlift. So if anyone can reccomend what they have used or seen it would be great. I woul also do a 6" if it was reccomended. Exact descriptions or part numbers would be great becasue I will order it through my dealership. Thanks!!!

[/ QUOTE ] Just need to ask, what do you plan on doing with your truck ?? Sence you mentioned the cage, I'm thinking rocks. If you're going for a rock crawler, Go 4". I'm more of a mudder, so I went 6".

Well, I have a full cage but I probably won't use it for anything except keeping the body from crushing in half. I made a full convertible out of it and built Seats into the cage. It will be driven a lot on the street and up logging trails. Mudding will probably be be the ticket. After some research on prices I was able to get a new Super lift 6" front and rear springs (super ride) Steering arm and new brake lines. Thru my work I got all of it new for 580.00 The stuff I price out from ORD came to 1150.00 SO I decided did not want to miss another summer. I hope this works out!!

Fix your shackle angle and your springs won't feel so stiff.

how do you do that? you mean the front shackles right?

boy, that looks like a PITA! i think my shackle angle is good enough.

I doubt your shackle angle is anything but horrible if you haven't done this mod and you have lift springs.

It wasn't a pain in the ass at all. Knock the rivets out with air hammer, drill a 2" hole with hole saw, mark and drill three holes for the mount, drill, bolt it in, and you're done.

This mod is basically free and nearly nothing you do can benefit as much as this.

Free mods = good IMO.

I did a Superlift 2.5" Superride kit. I think next time I might shop a little. My big complaint is that the springs didn't come with the silencer pads, and now I get a lot of noise from the front when wheeling.

I also installed the Superlift 2 1/2" springs front and rear. They have the pads and work great! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif You sure they are superlift springs? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Thanks for the Adsvice. Has anyone used any of the 4" or 6" inch lifts from superlift? Does stiff mean they will Wheel worse and ride on the street better? A little more insight on what I will be loosing by going with one of their lifts would be helpful. This will be my first lifted truck and will be driven on the street as much as the trail.

After installing my Superlift 2 1/2" softride springs, I noticed that the rear set 2" higher than the rear so I purchased and installed the 4" Superlift softride springs in the front and all is well.

The 4's do seem to ride a little stiffer though. I believe the more arch the spring has, the stiffer it can be. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Yeah I got them from Rocky Mountain Suspension in '00 or '01.
