Well a new old purchase. Had it for years. Its never been used. The stick welder has always worked nicely.

What do I need? Stinger, ground and a spool of wires?

You'll need to use Fluxcore wire since I'm assuming you don't have gas. I have a Lincoln SP135 or something like that, looks similar. I had to replace my MIG gun several years back and used something similar, works fine. If you're new to wire welding, the tips on the gun end, have to match your wire size. I use .023 as my default.

How about the ground end? Is it a plug in the front type or bolt it down inside the unit?

Finally got everything hooked up. After using a stick welder exclusively, tonight I laid down my first bead with MIG. Talk about a game changer. 20210929_201519.jpg

It's way batter than a stick... Turn your amperage up on thicker metal like that.

Whats the trick to keeping the stinger plugged into the welder? The wire feed eventually pushes it out.20211001_105603.jpg

The second picture w/ the wire thru the brass sleve... is that some kind or clasp or rentention clip?

I believe it's the wingnut behind the bolt head (in your 1st picture). Loosen the wingnut, insert the end, then tighten it down.

The gun end should have two O rings, one on either side of the hole. That hole is for gas. On the machine the brass tube you are pointing to with welding wire is where the gas should enter the gun. Behind that, the thumb screw is the retainer for the gun. The end of the thumb screw sockets into the "U" shaped groove on the end of the gun preventing it from being pushed out.

Not sure if your machine has the gas solenoid kit or not, but if it does the welding gets even better using gas shielding.
