I had one guy I liked at the schwabs in Coos Bay, never charged me for using the whole shop to get a 16.5 tire back seated, just asked what it was going on and talked trucks for a minute.
It’s not that they don’t give a shit they are just clueless.Exactly, I had a tire shop tell me “I’ll do it but I don’t want bitching if it’s scratched” that’s when I started doing my own…ZM is right, they hope you’ll take it elsewhere because the kid they have working doesn’t give a shit
I go a mile down the road to the Hutterite colony. I’m good friends with them.Back when I use to work for a John Deere dealer, I would go to a local independent service station here in my home town over lunch hour if I had a flat tire. I would pull up in front of a bay, walk inside and grab a jack, impact and socket. Roll the jack outside, take off the wheel, roll the tire inside and find the puncture. Take the tire off, patch it, remount it, and put the wheel back on. The entire time the owners would be sitting in the office bs'ing, never even paying attention to me. I would walk in the office when I was done, and give him a couple bucks for the patch. I always found it kind of entertaining.
