I am looking for a longer wheel stud to replace a dorman 610-180. I have searched all over and all I find is people talking about it but no actual part numbers. I am switching front spindles/rotors on my 87 1/2 ton suburban over to 8 lug so I can run some good 16 inch tires. I bought some new ATX Artillery wheels but I dont like how many threads I am catching with the stock wheel studs, would like to find some studs at least a quarter to a half an inch longer. Help!

This is not a direct answer so much as a "teach a man to fish" sort of thing, but I'd sit down with yours and a caliper, or if your parts house has the actual book (or maybe print out the PDF) and looks at pages 154 and maybe 155. Go much over .625" knurl and you'd want to drill out your hubs, but I'm thinking you could bang in one with a knurl of .630 or a bit more without drilling.

I downloaded the dorman catalog and did some checking around. The 610-216 is very close and a bit longer so I got one and it went in just fine. Now I just need 31 more to do the two front axles I need to swap out. Thanks for the info, I might get my axle swapping done yet before it snows...again

If you need that many of those studs, check ebay. When I was doing some shopping for the Dorman wheel studs I found some vendors online who were quite a bit cheaper. Plus I couldn't get them locally anyways.

I'm a little lost. If you are going from 6 lug to 8 lug you will use a totally different stud anyway. Usually the 9/16"s ones are plenty long. If you are getting hubs from a donor vehicle, the ones you need may already be there.

When I put the new wheels on my semi floater 3/4 ton axle, this was in my pickup before I put it in the blazer, I had one wheel come loose and they werent overly long so I found some longer rear studs. I did get 8 lug front hubs from a donor and wanted to find a little longer stud while I had everything apart The 216 stud is a 1/4 inch longer and I felt better about trusting them with the extra threads the lug nut is getting a hold of. I swapped a few axles/hubs this summer. Pulled 3.73 6 lug axles out of my blazer and replaced them with 3/4 ton axles with 4.10's, pulled the 4.10's out of my 3/4 ton pickup and replaced them with 3.73 axles, now just finishing up 3.73 8 lug axles in my 87 half ton burb that had 6 lugs hubs.
