This was mine when I was his age (about 3.5yrs). I exhumed it from my Mom's shed under the cover of darkness, tore it down, had the three coats of paint glass beaded off of it (second coat being lead-based--until the mid-ninties, John Deere brand paint contained lead--no kidding), re-assembled it with a wallet-emptying load of new parts, a few coats of current lead-free John Deere brand paint and added some new decals. After all that, this is what I (soon to be he) ended up with: I sure hope he likes it because I could have purchased a brand new one (or two) for what I sunk into this one. I also have the wagon for it, but I haven't finished it yet. I ruined it by overloading the living hell out of it so many times that I had to reconstruct the bottom of it, add structural support and add paint and decals to it. It will be ready by C-day.
