I have a 60 with ORD high steer and working on hydro assist. Everything is done, but still debating on a place for my hydro assist ram. I have one end taken care of either way I mount it. I bought a tube clamp to mount to the tie rod if I go that route, and a knuckle stud to mount to the steering arm or lower knuckle. I was just going to buy some rectangular tubing and have at it but I just got quoted and $40 for a 6 in peice. :eek1:

There's got to be a prefabbed one out there somewhere but I've searched for a week now. There can't be that much difference between high steer set ups. This is what I'm after:

That's low steer. Looking for a high steer mount. Kert's not really doing any R & D right now.

I don't know about anyone offering something for sale, but the solution is dead-simple.....

Here's what I did:

I just utilizes the large swaybar bolt as an anchor, and one of the u-bolts to clamp it down. Works great and it's simple.

Here's a shot installed:

Given that you live in San Jose, I can think about a number of guys in the local NorCal Big Dawgs club that could probably help you fab that up if you didn't have the tools to do it. Some of them even work for food! :D

I like it. Is your axle relocated with 52/56's or is it in the stock location?

The front springpin re-locates the axle 1" forward from stock.

45" overall length IIRC..... It's a 1st Gen thing. :D

Update
I'd love to run the ram there but I have a 6.0L swap and the low engine crossmember is in the way. I mocked up the panhard bar bracket and it doesn't mount the ram high enough. Still looking for something like I posted in the first picture.

If you make a piece that will work out of cardboard and give me the dimensions I could draw it for you on cad and you could send it out to get cnc cut.

Even though I already bought the 1/2 inch plate to make these I went ahead an ordered new 1/2 u-bolt plates from ruffstuff today. For the 50 bucks I figured I would rather work a hour more than build em and aggravate myself.

Ill just add my tabs and use a ballistic tube clamp I have.

Ill just add my tabs

pics or measurments? I have a chevy frame, a 6.0 and highsteer.. I am seeing no issue with my plan to do this.

You can see placing it there would probably hit the crossmember and get in the way of the track bar I want to install.

My axle is also moved forward with 56" springs which makes it difficult to mount a ram. Boz did it but his engine crossmember is higher.

I'm thinking that the only way I can mount it where it's out of the way is to the top of an aftermarket diff cover in this location.

That crossmember looks to be an issue for you, I just remembered I have race style mounts on mine and no crossmember there.

Bump an oldie for more pics

I swear I saw a cheap pre tabbed kit somewhere this week but now I can't find it. :doah:
