I want to lock my hood to keep (whoever from disabeling alarm siren or cutting battery cables ). Don't really want to go with the locking hood pins, had em on another truck and can be a pain. I see they used to make locking cables. Have any of you used those? Where can I get one?

Yes but I don't want them to disable the siren or just cut the battery cable and then maybe tow it away. I want to detour them as much as possible.

mounts a ( u) shapped threaded bold on the hood structure, use a bacle from ace or home depot and a lock on the bottom near the bumper to another (u)

I had the ones that use a key on another truck, they get to be a pain, and more keys to carry.

If you don't mind your grille having a hole in it I've seen folks replace the hood latch mechanism with a "shed door" type lever and latch mechanism and then just a padlock through the latch. Good and solid but you pretty much have to cut a hole in your grille to access it.
