lower gears and gas mielage in the city

    How is gas in the city with 4.56 and 35's vs stock with 35's?

    6in 87' K5 w/ 35" BFG muds.
    305/Sm465/ NP208
    Kn filter--> 20hp haha
    I got my 4.56!!!!
    Next.., 2in body and 37" SSR's!

    I am willing to bet that in the city you'll get better mileage with lower gears.

    On the highway, it may suffer some depending on what tranny you have, how fast you drive, what the stock ratio is, and if your engine has enough power to pull it down the road lugging down.

    Honestly, get the lower gears, don't think about it too much. When you get them after having driven the truck so long with airplane gears, you'll be so pleased with the extra performance gain.
