LS engine to what transmission?

Not lots of good choices for passenger drop in the junkyard used parts world. Machining a 205 for a big bearing and VSS is still probably cheaper than trying to get a 241C, if you can even find one. Even if you find one it should probably get a SYE which adds more money. A 208 has its own issues and also should get a SYE. A 205 is pretty easy to rebuild, you can FedEx an empty case out for the machine work easily and quickly these days.

I run the dump truck trans. Works fine. They are almost free, same with the 10 spline 205. Also 6.55 first gear does a lot to make up for 1.96 in the t-case.
I guess I am spoiled with e few of each sitting on shelves, I forget not many left out there

I have one stashed in the shed too. My 1991 V2500 suburban has one, I don't dare let the spare go, too hard to find another. I guess us hoarders are part of the problem.
Well I am a hoarder, but every tcase I have has a home to go to, I just haven't had time to get to them. Transmissions I have more than I need

Us hoarders definitely have issues - I’ve cleaned and cleared out the garage a few times over the years and still have a Fred G, Sanford resemblance goin on.
I would have never made it as a junkyard owner - the ole saying that “One man’s junk is another’s treasure” rings way too true with me.

You could do a 241c and install a 32 spline input since a lot of them are 27 spline. Very easy and no special parts or machining required. I did that to mine. Also then can get a Dakota digital vss generator that runs off the Speedo cable or they have other options. The 241c isn't that difficult to find and not super expensive really. I would not do all the machine work and input swaps on a 205. Then end up with a not so great low range. Just my opinion.
