LS Motor Build - wiring question

I used a throttle cable off a 97 c1500 pickup truck worked perfectly fit right in place like it was a factory piece.

I finally got it running.

I still need exhaust, driveshaft and ECM tuned. Hope to have it driving next weekend.

Can't wait to get the drivetrain done so I can get cracking at the body work and put on some fresh paint. Not to mention I'm not a fan of red... personally.

Another video of it running

I got the ECM with a baseline tune so it idles well. Starts up great and idles really nasty.

Last weekend I got the driveshafts in and some of the smaller fab work done. The last two big hurdles are exhaust (obviously) and shifter. I hope to drive it soon!!

Another boring idle video uploaded.

Ignore the horrible lights drilled into the stock bumper. I did that last winter before a snow storm hoping to have some nighttime wheeling videos. They're coming off (with bumper) soon :-)

I hope to have some driving updates next week.

How did you do that? Copy the YouTube URL to the "Manage Attachment" screen?

For those of you who have done a LS swap, how did you give the ECM ground signal when in park or neutral? Or do you not care about it and just ground the wire? I found the Neutral Safety Switch on the steering column and was thinking of using a relay to convert it from 12V switch to ground switch???

Thoughts?

I also want to know about this. I have just lived with it on my truck but i would like to hook it up so that it knows what im doing.

Click new reply, then click the YouTube button just above and left of the smilies.
Then pase just the part of the youtube link that i have put between the *'s, and thats all there is too it! Example,

httww.youtube.com/watch?v=*HWBLn1CJDbs*&list=UUmnupNfwWeMpZ3lzDa3mVGw&index=4&feature=plcp

Another example, its always the part between the v= and the &

httww.youtube.com/watch?v=*fxr9YfUgJog*&feature=relmfu

So for the above example you take this part,

fxr9YfUgJog

And put it in between these brackets that appear when you press the youtube button,

[*YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE*]

Like this,

[*YOUTUBE]fxr9YfUgJog[/YOUTUBE*]

To get this! Yes im a whore....

y5mgisi,
Maybe we can do this together :-)

Can you check on your truck and let me know what plug on the neutral safety switch puts out a 12V signal when in park or neutral? I would do it myself, but my wiring was a complete hack from the previous owner. I completely stripped it out and am using an aftermarket "hot rod" harness that controls the lights only. I didn't need the factory harness to do anything but the keyed ignition, lights, and wiper controls. The nice thing is, most "hot rod" harnesses use the GM steering column as a base, so it's a factory looking install.

I may try and put 12V things myself tonight, if I have enough time.

I think I have it. On my year (87), the left plug on the Neutral Safety switch IS the NSS, the plug to the right of it is for reverse. I'm going to ground one end of the NSS plug and run the other end to the ECM.
