Not so much LQ9 LM4 ABC6 or whatever, but more like aftermarket support for engines that came out of Express vans etc. I've read about intakes being different. But what about belt driven accessories and such?

I'm also looking for the van gas pedal and TAC module. If I get them as a pair, will they play nice with a truck motor and ECM?

(PS I'm trying van 5.3s because the computer is already set up for the gas pedal. The pedal being easier to mount than the truck versions supposedly. Also looking at truck engines too)

fyi trucks 03-up got electric gas pedal .

any yes close to bolt on firewall in same location . just need to mod the arm like I did in my 2wd build .

Yeah the truck pedal bolted up easy in my 71 even used stock holes. I would stay away from the van stuff and save yourself a headache. Have you ever looked under one of those hoods? ****s tightly packed

have you ever worked under a van hood  I have lots of times.

make it even more fun a try a 3-350 ford van with a 7.3 stuffed in from the factory . :doah:

Throttle cable is like a 10 minute fix on the old trucks 73-91.

Just use the cable off the donor vehicle and pull the gas pedal assembly out of the truck your building and bend the linkage back like two inches and your in business

Actually looking to run the DBW cable. CC should be easier this way.

I was only looking at the vans because I read the pedal had a better angle or mounting position for adapting to the older trucks.

dbw is 4 extra wires as cruise is there already in the tac mod.

then little research to find out how to wire it in the stock switch .

also here is my pics of mod gas pedal from truck/suv .

post 54/55/70 in my 2wd build link below is pics on how to modify the unit to fit and look stock .

And finding low mileage dbc engines is tough. I don't mind the dbw stuff since they are everywhere and I can be choosy.

So when did the plastic gas pedals start? Or can I use a metal pedal with matching TAC module on a different motor?

just the pad's plastic and the position sensor on top .

we have had plastic pedal pad for fuel for years .

I just welded on the older pin to the newer uunit for a retro / non swaped look . . . unless you look closer.
