Hey Fred,
FYI your build was one of the ones I got a lot of motivation from for mine. Yours is a beast for sure!
To answer your question, yes I can get some pics, I've been busy enough that I haven't had time to sit down for a couple hours and update my poor thread- People are gonna start losing interest soon!
I'm currently running Kert's B52 brackets bolted to the frame in the rear position, with the spring eye in the frontmost position of the bracket. I have not relocated the rear shackle hangar, and I ended up with a pretty healthy shackle angle with 7.25 inch shackles. Stock rubber bushings all the way around.
Also running zero rates in the 1.5 forward position, and the axle seems to be in the same spot as when I was running stock length springs with the zero rates.
The biggest thing with the 54s is that they really don't seem heavy duty enough for this application. (had to add a leaf to get decent preload with the 6.2) Granted, I didn't have bumpstops set up before- and now I do, so that should keep them from going negative, but in any case they have a slight s-curve to them, so the damage is done and I think I'm going to need new ones soon.
I'll try to get a few quick pics tonight, but what I really need to do is just get off my lazy ass and continue my doggone build thread! LOL

I'm no stranger to mixing together leaf-packs hillbilly style though

^ I learned from the best! lol
I've been meaning to get some poly bushings.. I actually started that project at one point but the very first eye bolt I tried seemed to be frozen and since I was at about 75% motivation, I said screw it. Must have been a sign that I should do it this winter.
As far as the 26/28, I'll have to measure, I know between the front springs and the back springs I had them both on forwards and backwards with the 0rates in different configurations to get the axles where I wanted them..
This was at like 2am one night on a mission to get the thing mobile to free up the lift for work the next day. Things never work as well as one would hope!
As far as the hangars go, I believe that they way I have them mounted on my frame (rearward position) The rear-most hole is the stock eye location, and that the holes are in 1 inch increments. (going off of memory here) So I would imagine that my front spring eyes are 4" forward. (I'm using forward-most hole)
Hopefully someone can chime in here to confirm...
Front shock mounts look awfully familiarNice build, I love CUCVs!
depends on how hard calc 2 will get.

That was melol I know I completely copied and tweaked someone's tower mod, but that was before I was a member and can't find the thread now. If it was yours, thanks for the great idea!

That was me![]()
I just took it a step further and nested the tower between the bumpstop brackets and the frame using the top hole of the three to locate the top hole of the two in the tower, then started drilling. My lower mounts are flush with the bottom of the axle tube instead of sitting on top of it, so it works out that the towers are a bit lower than some folks'
Hey I'm only so smart. Obviously they weren't going to be in the same place but that was too tough for me to figure out. lol.I remember calc two a year ago.
Luckily thats the highest math class ill need. I Got a solid B in it and I was satisfied.
Lol thanks. I need to lower my lower shock mount and add bumpstops still. I can bottom out the shocks right nowWell... It was genius.I just took it a step further and nested the tower between the bumpstop brackets and the frame using the top hole of the three to locate the top hole of the two in the tower, then started drilling. It got tough, however, when I copied your notches for the steering shaft.Hey I'm only so smart. Obviously they weren't going to be in the same place but that was too tough for me to figure out. lol.
Overall I'm pretty stoked with how it worked out.
