M1028- [under new management]

I'll put a bolt in that fifth hole when I move the shackle hanger/hitch frame sandwich 1.5 forward eventually...

Mine is tied through the shackle bolts, if it rips off I am in a world of hurt.

Shackle bolts? like.. not the shackle hangar bolts but the actual shackle bolts? I must not be understanding correctly cause that seems like something much less clever than everything else on your truck lol....

Well the bolts that bolt the shackle hanger to the frame. It sandwiches the frame. Knowing that the sheer strength of one 7/16 grade 8 bolt is 13,000lbs I think it will be OK.

FYI, your truck is much neater than mine. Mine is mostly thrown together junk.

Thanks Kansas!

John- Mine is set up the same way with the shackle hangar and hitch sandwiching the frame. I think it's a pretty legit setup and clearly great minds think alike.

Thanks for the compliment! I get lots of time to think about what I want to do to it, but not much time to actually work on it. So usually in the interest of efficiency, I try to do the best I can the first time so I'm happy with it. What I really need to do is wheel the dern thing haha. Still never been anywhere with it... :doah:

And FWIW your truck has way more personality than mine could ever hope to have lol. I'm too "Felix" (Odd Couple) to have anything not just a certain way... and that makes it pretty boring at times.

We have a brake coming up silly. I need to get the turbo on my dually and see what it will do.

Very true! I keep forgetting that school is out day after tomorrow lol.. As far as I know all the local guys are mobile, right? Nobody is stuck on jackstands?

My dually is apart. Ordered a dampener, intake gasket set, belts and the rest of the stuff to get the turbo project started

I tend to wheel hard. I can steal the old mans truck or us my half ton but I want to get the 6.2 project finished.

Fair enough! I'd like to think my truck is pretty well setup but I bet everyone is going to laugh at how much I pussy foot it haha. Either that or I'll heavy foot it and break everything..

All I know is peer pressure has never put me in a hole of unknown depth yet... So usually if I see someone do it, then I'll try.

I used to drive it all the time but I wasted money on a trailer so I just as well use it.

When it had 37 OZ tires I drove it all the time. It drove great with those tires. It loved to wind the speedo around.

Saw triple digit speeds more times than I care to remember. The old peanut port pile of crap that was in it ran hard. Lost alot of topend with the lpg, hoping my new tunnel ram and two 425s will help out the new 454. I miss the power of gas but the cost of lpg and the way it runs other than WOT make it worth it.

Haha I bet that was some white knuckle driving there. It's all about power down low I spose. Caddy big blocks have lots of that. And they're light, and I have one. Now I just need to get it resealed and put in someday.

I am sure this will start a pissing contest but I would still do a bbc, less work and my pile made 500ftlbs with a cam headers and intake.

Mine drove like a caddy at 10 or a 110 with the radial 37s.
