We've had tons of large farm implements down the road lately and I wondered if it was just one of those going by, but we were pretty spread out and everybody reported no vehicles, but strange shaking. The kids were asking me what was going on and I said the only thing you can call that is an earthquake.

Looking online, it was down by Galesburg, a 4.1 and was felt in Big Rapids, Livonia and Midland.

    Who felt it?

    I did.
First thought was a loaded gravel hauler flying by (no sound, residential street didnt fit). Maybe a neighbor bouncing around?? Nope, wife tells me later, earthquake.
1st earthquake I actually felt. Kinda cool.
Aaaaand now the California crowd points and laughs:D

Nothing here. At all. But our Michigan doesn't really have much in common with your Michigan, so I can't say I'm surprised.

    I did see this, though:

Funny though, I believe we just had one a couple days prior to yours. (so I'm told by a few people, I didn't feel s***)

Yeah, I'll totally give it to you that we don't have real earthquakes here. Something like 3 anybody could feel in the last 40 years? Muskegon and St. Joseph aren't at risk of sliding into Lake Michigan. But at least nobody was claiming it crippled us or all the businesses closed or something. Just a novelty, really. What happens if you get .01" of snow?

We got a 5.1 in 2002 here in upstate NY, it was in the morning and I was still in bed. I told the dog to stop thinking it was the dog scratching herself while being on the bed. I rolled over to notice the dog wasn't on the bed and thought to myself wth was that? Of course being 2002 and only one year after 9/11 ideas much worse than a earthquake went through my head being only 35 minutes from a nuke pant. Anyways, I was happy it was a earthquake.
