The XL's were designed to be run unbalanced on combat bead lock wheels on vehicles weighing multiple times heavier than our light duty trucks. Some were even meant to be run this way with run flat inserts...still no balancing. It's not uncommon for a guy to run the bigger sizes like these on a deuce and a half, not balance them, and have no noticeable vibes. The 11.00R16's like I have are famous for requiring very little to balance them, like 4 ounces at most. They are also speed rated and DOT approved with HIGH load ratings. Mine are a D but with a 4500lb rating each.
So basically they're not an extreme offroad tire like a Swamper or similar but a heavy duty tire meant to be used on and offroad with actual offroad capabilities and to be able to run well on the road.
Going to be a mud bogger or hard core rock crawler? Not for you.
Going to do a little bit of everything and drive it on the road while having a truck capable of spinning and stopping such large tires? They'll work for you.
