What front axle is most common with an 85 1ton chevy used by the millitary? I know they've got 14btffs. Also trans and tcases?

If you are talking about the m1008 it will have a d60 front and 14ff rear with a detroit and 4.56's! Tranny will be a th400 i believe and the t/case will be a 208 i believe.

Should be a Dana 60, just check for the kingpin knuckle to make sure it is not a D44.
