Somebody was kind enough to put there car in reverse and back into my DD without looking now I have some cash to finally do something about my sickly t400 trans in my jimmy.Ive been looking real hard a monster transmissions and then I thought why not get some honest opinions from a good source. So has anybody here done business with them?

Yes I have. I say they are good. I bought the "monster in a box" for my 700r4. Check the last couple pages of my build thread. It's in there. Good luck.

Thanks for the input.I'm wanting to get a complete trans with converter so I get the warranty.I looked into B&M but wasn't impressed and there warranty was less than satisfactory and very vague.Plus monster's website is easy to navigate and find what you want which is a plus in my book.I cant believe more people on this site don't have any input about monster transmissions though.

look at phoenix transmissions i just finished installing my th350, they took down my vehicle, motor size(HP, TQ), transfer case, axle ratio, and tire diameter. Then custom built me a torque converter and customized my shift points. Then ran it on a dyno to test the operating pressures and ensure that it shifted correctly. Then they crated it up in a bomb shelter and freighted it to me. I have put about 100 miles on it now and I am completely happy, plus their warranty doesnt begin untill your project is completed.

Looking at there site I found a few things that make me cautious.First is they do state the warranty doesn't start until your project is done.Sounds good but nowhere do they state what there warranty actually covers.I went to there FAQ's section and also nothing about there warranty.I find it hard to believe that not every customer asks about the warranty. Also who pays shipping in the event you have a problem? They don't mention anything about that either. The other thing I noticed about shipping is they mention nothing which would make me wonder how much that's going to be.I could just pick up a phone or email them but I shouldn't have to.They could be an awesome company to deal with they just need to be more upfront as far as I'm concerned.

EDIT..My bad they do mention there warranty on the home page.Shows how good I am at finding things.

Update; Monster trans installed!

I got it last week but no power from the freak storm so had to wait till Saturday. Most important thing is it works properly. They do a top notch job making it look like a new trans and they put a chrome pan on but that will be swapped with my aluminum finned pan when I do a fluid change.Shifting is very firm and consistent. When I say it shifts consistent its like clockwork depending on throttle position.I got a new converter with a bit more than stock stall and its very helpful when taking off with a loaded trailer getting my engine a bit higher up in the rpm power band.I haven't really put enough miles on it yet to give it a firm recommendation but so far I am happy with my decision.
