more H1 wheel questions

Every base I have ever been on they frowned on that stuff.
At least you have a driveway you can borrow to do the heavy stuff.

i would go to the hobby shop and work on my stuff, but i have more tools in my closet than they have in that place.

so far i've replaced my intake, attempted FI then reinstalled the old carb, rebuilt the transfer case, and installed my new tierod on my truck. on other peoples cars i've done water pumps, a power steering pump, a rack and pinion, and wheel bearings in the parking lot.

have you found any good wheeling spots in vancleave?

Nope.
Freedom Offroad is a pretty good group of guys that go wheeling pretty often. 99% Jeeps. I went with them one time, but it was only to help recover a stuck UniMog. My huge Chevy was the anchor.

i went out with a few of those guys this past weekend, it was fun but i prefer more trail rides, not getting in a big open spot with some wash outs to climb.

i've been trying to go out with mississippi-mud but they are mostly in hattiesburg and i don't feel like driving that far.

i dont guess anyone really answered your first question.....i drive on my recentered H1's all the time at highway speeps just fine (thanks to some air-soft bb's)....also i got it inspected with the rims on it and the guy didnt say **** about them (or the horn and brights not working, or the hydraulic assist, or not having gay mudflaps, or not having a shoulder strap on my seatbelt, or not having any emmsions bull****...but a case of miller lite will do that round here)....anyway i can say they are heavy as ****...and i use a pvc-type insert......i used to tear up bearings and ball joints in my 10-bolt tho....

To address one of your original questions. The H1 rim will hit the tierod on a 1/2 and 3/4 axle.

Sorry for the hijak, but oneofthefew, who did you get your inspection from? Alabama plate expires in June and i will need to redo my stuff to TX then.

I run my h1's and 38.5 tsl's on the street and they work fine. I went with airsoft bb balancing and they run pretty smooth, well as smooth as a broke ass truck can be

probably 1000 would do it very well. i just chucked in a 1/4 of the container in each tire.

how much you put in (airsoft)?

Use this chart:

http://www.innovativebalancing.com/BigTirechart.htm

to find out how many ounces of BBs are needed.

and then use this to convert from ounces to grams(bs are weighed in grams).

http://www.metric-conversions.org/cgi-bin/util/convert.cgi

(12 ounces = 340g, 10 ounces = 283.5g, 8 oz = 226g) there did most of the work for you on that one

Then divide the grams by the weight of one bb(.12 grams or .20 grams are available) for how many bbs needed. Therefore 12 ounces = 340g = 2833 .12 g BBs or 1700 .2 g BBs.

I doubt you could get more than a couple of hundred in a handful of Airsoft BBs:confused: Better to use something like a measuring cup and do some math.

I think 2" spacers would give you more then enough clearance. Be mind full of shock/steering box rub.
