Murphy's Oil soap was the tire lube of choice at my friends tire shop and repair garage, its cheap, can be found easy at grocery stores and makes tire mounting much easier--worked better than commercially sold stuff for mounting tires and costs a lot less....at home I use dishwashing liquid soap or Wd-40..
Anyone but me ever use something besides bead sealer on rims that were rusty after wire brushing them??...
I've used many things like grease, weatherstrip adhesive (found out that wasn't the best idea later when it was time to take OFF the tires!--along with Permatex "High Tack" gasket adhesive, both litteraly welded the beads to the rims ,making them dam near impossible to get off even with a good tire machine!

)..one tire was so firmly welded to the rim I set it on fire in my back yard and burned it off!..but I didn't trust the rim after getting it red hot in the process..
I've also tried RTV,silicone caulking and roofing cement on my lawn tractor tires beads, none seemed to work that great...grease seems to work best for me..despite the warning that petroleum products will degrade rubber,I've never seen any harmful efects from using grease on the beads..
