Bit of an odd question-

I have a cabin up a long muddy road, and when I pull out of my driveway onto the fairly busy paved road quite a bit of mud flies off my tires. Even though the last 100 ft. of my driveway is paved the mud doesn't come off until I get up some speed. I feel a guilty about it, and also it's apparently illegal. I don't have a water source there and also wouldn't be crazy about trying to wash it off every time. I was thinking about maybe some kind of metal grating or some such that I could drive over that would get some mud off. Anyone have any ideas?

Hmm, yes that might help some but I'm not concerned about flying mud or rocks hitting other cars before it comes off, not that busy a road. It's the two strips of mud/dirt that go for a few hundred feet.

Sounds like you need two long water filled ruts to wash off the tires before you get to the street...or wash them off with a garden hose..
