Muddysub's Toyota crawler.

Putting weight on the nose of a toy is not an awesome thing. The cases hold up good but your already at the limits of either the axle shafts ( stock) or the ring and pinion ( aftermarket shafts).

If I was doing a 4.3 it would have a 700 and a 241 behind it. All moved back 4"

I think you'd be happy with a 22r or how about a 3rz. If you want more power that would be my choice

If you like the way it wheels now. I'd just rebuild the 22r. decide on propane b4 you do it and if so then rebuild the motor to run on propane.

I think this is the way I'll be going. I'm fine with a 4cyl, I'm used to underpowered vehicles. I could bump the compression some to make it run better on propane. Rebuild kits for this engine are cheap. I bet I could have it done in a couple weeks.

Last week you were telling everyone LS...

My Toyota buddy in WA loves them with the little 22R. Light weight for snow and stuff and can be built with enough power and lot's of gearing. Only need a big engine if mud or sand running I think.

The yota has been sitting for a few weeks, Christy gave me the go ahead on a new engine so I'll probably buy one or have this one rebuilt. Something with a warranty. Today I took it for a spin around the neighborhood because I felt bad for it. That damn thing is so much fun to drive. I bought some new 2" spacers for it to replace the 1.25" ones on the truck, no more rubbing on the springs and steering box. I don't mind spacers but when I bought it they were stacked up on the front axle. I want new wheels but I also want engines and propane systems, lol!

Things will be moving along shortly. I'm picking up an engine and propane system soon. Both trucks need some love before BB17 and I need to get busy.

So we made a bit of a parts run up to Petaluma CA this weekend for some Toyota parts. I grabbed a new 22R engine and propane system, which was the plan all along. While we were there I jokingly mantioned the 37" BFG krawlers sitting on the shelf and my wife told me to go ahead and buy them! **** yeah! We had to play some truck Tetris but we made it all fit. Next weekend I'll be buying a cherry picker and cleaning the garage to get ready for the engine swap.

Over the weekend I started pulling everything for the engine swap. I have it pretty much ready to pull now but I don't have room in the garage to even move the cherry picker around. I cut a bunch of unused wiring out of the truck today and kinda figured out a new power steering cooler. We're going camping this weekend so I probably won't mess with it again til next week some time. There's so much I want to do but I'm just swapping the engine and fuel system right now. I don't need a huge project right now.

I made a little room in the garage today, still got a ways to go there. After this weekend's camping trip I'll be purging the garage, throwing a lot of stuff away.
