My 5.3 swap thread!

Further impressions were good! I dont know really what all to tell. He didsome stuff that impressed me. His shop is a little lack luster but i think thats because he has only had it about 6 months. But yea, he was really cool and really nice. Down to earth. I just thought it was cool that when he was telling me how to install the harness in my truck that he knew where each onw would be. He knew all there was too know about installing an LS into my truck. Even knew that it had a DRAC module and what to do about it without me asking. Even knew trivial stuff like what thread the coolent temp sensor would be on the burb. Just good stuff that showed his familiarity with the swap.

Keeping a close eye on how long this takes you, and what snags you run into.

The downtime is the main reason I haven't done something in my burb....

The overall swap is not that hard if you have everything laid out and in order before you start. I bet it could be done in a couple of weekend if you have everything in order when you start.

Im not going to be in much of a hurry really. Im thinking that my budget is going to set the pace for me... Im thiking it will take a little over 2 months. If i had more money, i think i could do it in a month very easily.

Awesome motor swap. I think you will be more than happy. Cant wait to see her under the hood

Will do! Its going after the flex plate. Its purpose is just to support the snout of the torque converter. Not going to space out the flex plate.

Ordered the fuel pump, temp sender, and oil pressure sensor adapter. Next purchase will be fuel line stuff once I come up with a final plan for that.
