Changed the filter & lift pump, used my Toyota to draw fuel to the filter to prime it.

It started up, let it idle for a while. Started it up several times, no problem.

Started out for work, it died once. Started up fine again. Pulled out on the main road, it started bogging. Got into the turn lane for my U-turn and it dies. Wore the batteries down trying to start it again.

Had to have it towed back home.

Cracked an injector line to see if fuel was still pumping. It was.

any ideas...?:dunno:

Might check the pink wire at the injector pump that feeds 12V to the fuel shutoff solenoid...might not be making a good connection...if you have voltage there, leave the key "on" on touch it to the switch's terminal, and listen for a "click"--that will tell you it "should" be working OK...if it starts and runs, and dies again, see if power was lost at that wire..

If you dont have 12V at that wire with the key on,you'll have to trace it back and see why--could be a bad spot in it touching ground,or maybe a bad ignition switch (you'd likely notice other things losing power too,if it was that though)..

It might be sucking air into the fuel lines somewhere too,and it may still "look" like its getting plenty of fuel, but the bubbles will airlock the injector pump...

On my M1008 I had a few rubber lines that needed to be replaced. The model 80 fuel filter is leaking again. I fixed those and it was better but still not right. I ended up pulling the tank having a cleaned putting in new sending unit. The pickup was covered in some white stuff. Not sure what was. Runs great now though

good suggestions, thanks guys.

I'm going to replace the rubber hoses and do the wire check. I checked it to see if it had a good connection. I'm charging the batteries now.

I'm suspecting an electrical issue as the motor keeps running when I shut it off. I have to turn it off by moving the turn signal arm. Been working fine until last week...

I forgot about this thread...turned out the lift pump was dead...

problem solved!:thumb:
