Most of the time local hardware stores don't stock the highest quality hand tools, nothing that will last for years and years.
Well recently I was at my local lowes trying to find some good quality sheet metal snips and I came across the Lennox brand snips. At first I was hesitant about buying them because they are 20 dollars for one pair but after taking a chance I'm highly satisfied with them.
If you notice in the picture they have very comfortable ergonomic handles that fit my hand pretty much perfectly. Take into account these are yellow snips so mostly for straight in cuts. Also if you look closely you notice the hardware holding them together is actually nut and lock bolts instead of rivets, that's very helpful for sharping the cutting ends. They don't bind or stick closed and feel very smooth. The lock is also easily switched with a one hand operation.
Overall probably some of the best snips I've ever purchased
