Hey guys. I have lived in my house just over a year now. All it has is a little one car garage, and of coarse, im in to big trucks! So, its been a challenge making it work for me but its come a long way sense i first got it. The garaage was initialy built as a car port with an attached "shed at the back. At some point the carport was closed in making it a garage. knocking down the old shed wall made one "big" garage. I investigated everything before i started tearing stuff apart and came to the conclusion that it was safe and sound. So, here is some "build pics" in mostly chronological order. Enjoy!

From the outside looking in.

First project in the garage was a carb re-build on the k5. this was pre wall tear down. The back of the blazer was just a little out the back of the garage in this pic. Not enough room!

How much walking room i have on either side of the truck.

Now i can pull the truck in this far, still close the garage door, and have room in front too! Before, the truck just exaclty fit in the garage with about 1-1/2" to spare...

Next up was a bench. First thing i did was sketch it up.

And thats pretty much how it is as of today! There are a couple more little shelves and im still organizing/throwing stuff away that i dont need. But, its come a very long way in a year! Not to mention this is my first house and first garage that i have ever been able to work in! Thats it for now!

Nice Buick!

I have a 455 sitting here waiting for some type of home whether it be a Buick or some hot rod

Was that a load-bearing wall you removed? If it was, be prepared to watch the building lean.

Shouldn't be, look at the roof trusses. In the design of that room it looks like the roof trusses are supported at the house and the outside wall, but the wall he removed ran parallel to the roof trusses.

Gotta work with what ya have mang :waytogo:

I have to say though you might be the only person in the world jealous of my garage though. I get 5 feet in front and almost 2 on all the other sides :haha:

Nope... I am jealous. My garage sucks a$$. I can fit the atvs, my motorcycle and a small tool box and it is pretty well packed. I do have hard wood floors in my garage though. It may be plywood on top of dirt but, I can tell people I have hard wood floors in my garage.:waytogo:

Nice dood.

Thanks!

Nice Buick!

Its a buddy of mine's. He's busy working on other stuff and doesnt have time for it so im keeping it out of the rain at my place and helping him work on it here and there.

Nope. It kinda used to be, but once they added the gable style roof it was no longer load bearing. Used to be a flat roof.

Nice! Yea, I wish!

Could be worse! Could not have a garage at all!

Nice dude! Looks a lot more usable now!!! I like the fact that every other pic has a different nice vehicle parked in your garage! Good thinking on your part to knock out that wall and gain a ton more space and greater ability to work on your vehicles! :waytogo:

That reminds me, I need to clean out my garage! I had i all nice and organized at one point but then it got invaded by mice and I tore it all up getting rid of them so, now it's time to clean it again (dang mice!!!).

Once it warms up a little, every single thing in it is gonna get moved out, gonna pressure wash the floor and then build some shelves (may have to steal a bit of your shelf design! Looks quite similar to what I need!) and organize/throw away stuff until it looks good.

On the plus side, some buddies of mine have volunteered to help with the clean up as long as they are supplied with beer so that'll make it easier!!! :D

Yea, Its gotten its fair share of use already...

here is another pic for good measure of my buddys jeep in there when we were doing is 6.0 swap,

That sucker must fly! Looks like it's really squeezed in there though... and no fun to work on.

I wish I could knock out a wall and make my garage bigger. Except it would just be a big hole, lol. I might as well just open the garage door :doah:

yeah!!! small garage's are still better than no garage. When my truck is in the garage i have 1.5ft on either side and about 4ft in the front!
