So years ago I moved the gas tank into the bed by cutting a hole. I kept slamming it on rocks so it had to go up. Then recently I converted to propane, so now I had a huge hole in the bed. This is what I came up with. Still got to mount the tanks and rear seats but I think its going to work out nicely. The box is 27x22x10 and its flush with the bottom of the frame rails.

What keeps the water out??

Btw i like it. thought of the same thing on my blazer but i'd have move my tank to god knows where

The way I made the lid, it has a channel to sit in. Any water would run into the channel then out to the ground through the drain holes. I used 2 pieces of 1" angle turned like this -\_/ and the lid sits in that around the "outside" of the box. BTW this is in my K5.
