my transmission rebuild thread

I had a th350 done by a friends . he used transtar reman kit and a noyoyo shift correction/improver kit . thing works super . 4.10 / 33" tires it would chirp tires 1-2 shift . but the shift kit wasn't so hard it would anoy the hell out of ya driving it .
 
got my transmission back today...

like it says i picked it up this morning from the re-builder,
going to install tomorrow morning to hot today to start.
here are some pics. should i paint the thing? opinions?

50/50 on paint . some say holds heat . so say why not.

I say your choice . and if major reman places do it then it cant be that bad .

also makes cleanup faster I think .

Those bright colors are also easier to spot by the search party if you are upside down somewhere remote.:doah: All kidding aside, the paint will make it easier for mud and dirt to rinse off and wont retain a noticeable amount of heat over the raw finish.
 
on a separate note how much fluid does the np 205 hold?
going to order some royal purple don't want to get to much extra
 
Frank is raining on my parade its saposed to rain tomorrow,if so have to put it in another day
 
if I recall around 2-3 qrt in a 205 .

can do atf or 80-90 oil . they used gear oil early on then went to atf later.
 
Well th tranny is in and bolted to the motor but the tranfer
Case is fighting me
 
i got to drive it yesterday!!:-)
only put 5 miles on it but it shifted great. shifted a little harder then it used to but i wanted that,nice to actually have that power back out of the motor
