My buddy just snapped off his adapter playin around. We were gonna go to Silver Lake tommorow with the truck but looks like we wont now as we cant find one....

If anybody has one please let me know asap, the SOB snapped in half.

FYI. Expand your search to include 400-208 adapters as they are the same. I think by the time the 241 was out it was going on 4l80s anyway. Might help you find something quicker to have more to look fir

Tall or short?

Tall = '81 - '84

Short = '85 - '90

It seems like the shorter one. Its not the stock tranny though. The adapter came with the th400 my buddy put in. We are playing with a tall one we found from an older pickup down the road. Its a cast style instead of the alluminum. Shortening it a little. We shall see..

If you're not sure, take a look at the crossmember.

If its flat, then its the '84 and older, or tall adaptor.

If it has a single or double hump, then its the '85 and newer, or short adaptor.

Well I guess they found 1 about an hour and a half away so they are runnin to get it. Now im all lonely in the garage lol. Oh well time to spray some bedliner on the blazer.

But if anybody does have one he would still like to have an extra. That new 383 must be too much for that adapter lol.

Maybe add braces from the TC to the transmission as well as the frame to avoid pressure on the adapter?

bad o.e.m style motor mounts SUCK for play in the clam shell.

tell him to get some energy suspension ones or better diy or ord mounts. then get a tranny/tcase mount same style also.

i have seen almost new o.e. style replacements fail fast under severe power.

but also like said add a brace or find the problem why its breaking.

Yah bad day. When it snapped it also snapped the tail shaft on the 241, blew both brand new installed last night u joints up (that were installed right) put a big dent in the new perty 3" exhaust we put in. Ugh. They should be back now with the new one so hopefully we get it all fixed up and head to the dunes in the AM for opening day.

We will still take any spares if anybodys got one, just in case cuz we had to hunt around all day and found one like 2 hours away or something haha.

Ill tell him bout the mounts too. Thanks guys:thumb:
