Alright, so I was recently chatting with my landlord, and he mentioned (in an EXTREMELY nice way) that he thought my Trail truck was a little less sightly than some of my other vehicles, and he would prefer if I didn't park it in the driveway.
I called him back immediately (I live in a nice place, and he is a nice older man, and we get along well - I do not want to move) and discussed it with him. He asked if I was going to restore it (it has every panel dented to hell) and I explained that I have the truck for camping and trails and stuff, and that frankly, it was likely to get a lot worse.
He said he didn't want to offend me, and that he liked me as a tenant, but I asked if we could settle on the following:
1.) I would try not to keep it at the house (I have other places to keep my vehicles) unless I was working on it or unless it was being used.
2.) If it was in the driveway, I would put a Car cover on it.
He seemed thrilled that I would work with him on it, and I'd like to make good on my promise. Now, here's where my request comes in:
I need a Car cover!
Normally, I would buy a Nice, lifetime style cover from California Car Covers. I have one of those for each of my "nice" cars, but they are too expensive for a truck that doesn't have a body panel worth a damn.... I shelled out over 300 bucks for each of my covers from those guys.
I looked on JCWhitney.com, but they want 170.00 for anything that doesn't look like tissue paper. The other issue I have is that it is a single cab longbed, but the bed is bobbed. So a "normal" cover would be way too long.
I am not looking for custom fit, would prefer Tan (blue or black is out... needs to be grey or tan) and need something that could live outside and be lockable. The lock I want just to make sure it doen't blow away, not that I care about theft...
Here's a picture of the truck in question:
Thanks in advance!!!
