so my friends dad has a 99 wrangler that needs its tcase mount replaced. the problem is the jeep comes with a skidplate in which the mount is incorperated into. i dont have any idea how to mount something under the tcase while we take the plate down. i mean the plate blocks any access to mount anything under the tcase, any ideas?

floor jack with some wood under the tail shaft housing were the drive shaft goes in to the tcase. just holding it up for your needs.

it will be fine. you are just supporting it on a piviot point is all. i have done this at work on a lift lots of times and just use a big screw jack instead of a floor jack as i am off the ground with the jeep.

fyi tho watch the bolts for the frame skidplate/tcase mount. thay get real rusty in the frame and like to snap off.

I did my 98`s by either the tailshaft bit or under the oil pan, cant recall but either way its no biggie. Biggest problem is D/C uses threaded inserts in the frame for the skid bolts,if your not careful with the skid bolts the inserts will break loose and spin then its a real Buzzard F to get the bolts out.
