what kind of joints are yall using?? just regular bushings inside a piece of tube like ORD sells or are they a kind that handles angles better??

The last pic in Steve's post (85m1009) looks like he uses a Jonny Joint or some variation on that theme. Basically a spherical ball captured by matching side plates. One is metal, the other is usually polyurethane.

How does that shackle thing work?? looks like when the axle wraps up the shackle would just move and wouldnt stop the axle wrap, or does that shackle not move??

force on the shackle is up and down. The shacke doesnt come into play untill the axle drops then it moves back and forth.

ow ok I understand, I dont think my idea would work then, in my plan the axle could wrap at the axle and that is why I couldnt figure out why the shackle would work, but if you had the 2 mounts at the axle or a double solid mount like mo-offroad's then it couldnt wrap at the axle.
So where can I get some jonny joints???

I buy the johnny joints from all-pro offroad. I think they are in the neighborhood of $40.00 per joint.
