Need help 2wd 94 S10 5spd trans!

I'm trying to fix my lil cousins S10 for him. Needs a new trans swapped in. Well the one I got him from a wrecking yard has a cracked tail housing but is good. How on earth do you get the tail housing off this thing?

It looked like all you had to do was drive this pin down into the shaft and the shifter block would come off allowing the tail housing to be removed?

Need to get this done ASAP for him as I've been telling him I'd get it back up and going for him (sole transportation) for 2 weeks.

Any help/leads/etc welcome!!

I believe you are correct in taking that roll pin out to remove the tail housing. It's been a few years since I've had a my T5 appart, but I know I had to drive out a pin to remove the tail housing and top cover.
