I have a dana 60 out of a 79 k30. I can grab the pinion and push/pull it in and out about a quarter inch. Is this due to a worn pinon bearing, or could it be the bolt holding the yoke/pinon on is not torqued down far enoungh? I need help now. If it is the pinion bearing, where could I get a dial indicator to help with the replacement? Thanks alot!

I've seen that happen with a loose pinion nut (14FF). Your best bet is to buy a new crush sleeve and pinion yoke seal and reset the lash. Check the bearing and replace if necessary.
If it's just a loose pinion nut, you might get away with just tightening down to set the proper pinion bearing preload, but if it was shucking back and forth it may have crushed the crush sleeve furthur than it should be (that's why I suggested replacing it).
