so i have a 91' Blazer that i thought was a K5. my motor mounts are pretty much completely GONE. called NAPA ordered new ones for a 91' K5 Blazer 4WD. BUT...the ones they gave me step up about and inch on the lower bolt of the mount. the old mounts on it DO NOT! they are flat againts the frame mount. so i went back and the only flat mounts for Blazers that i found were for the 2WD. so i figured it was just a factory malfuction or somthing. i got the 2WD mounts but when i tried to install them they didn't fit. from the top bolt to the bottom bolt on the original ones was 5" and on the 2WD ones it was 5 1/2". went back to napa and i can't find any other mounts that will fit it....ran the vin # and it said it was a V10??? are the motor mounts on a 91' V10 different than the normal K5????? cause i can't find any K5 mounts that fit it. Please HELP!

We need more info like 5.7L or Diesel?

If its a 5.7l looks like they didnt change since 1973-1991....make sure they arent selling you mounts for a V6 S10 Blazer
item #1 part number 34-0321

I hate dealing with parts stores.

I prefer to look online and find the part numbers myself and take them in to the guy behind the counter.

It also helps if you know what the part looks like so you can verify you're getting the correct one. If possible, take the old with you and compare side by side.

Did I mention I hate dealing with parts stores?

The mounts the parts store gave you are for the 88-2000 4wd ifs trucks so order them for a 1985 they are all the same for 2wd and 4wd from 1973 to 1987 with a 350 motor.

It doesnt sound like your problem, but something to think about. Like posted 2wd and 4wd have identical rubber mounts, and ordering from a 85 will avoid the carryover body style. I went thru this and finally discovered that the metal pieces on the engine are different for 2wd and 4wd. Somebody had used an engine from a 2wd and they had to use the completely shot rubber mounts to make up the difference.

AGood Luck

and there is a specific mount for big block over small block.

but yes just tell them mid 80's small block 4wd. lots of computer programs get this messed up cause the programers dont read the info right when hay program them.

and if me i would go diy4x mounts. 10x stronger. look cool . and can be fixed if you ever blew out a bushing super easy.

but if you do go diy4x thay will require a energy suspension polly tranny tcase mount also. as if thay are rubber thay all have to be rubber. and same with polly. not to mix and match. thay flex and handle diffrently. can cause problems.

but ya those cheep factory style replacements thay suck. china junk and crap out fast. go diy4x and be done.

this is exactly why I grab the part number off the interweb before going into a store.

I too have experienced this problem with my '91. When it comes to the '88-'91 blazers the software the parts store(s) use to find parts is flawed, When I deal with NAPA I tell them it's an '87, and I will never go back to Autozone as there so messed up it isn't funny. I ended up having to get my tierod and ends from LMC as both parts stores tried to sell me a tierod with the integral end on it instead of the tube with separate ends.
Whenever possible bring the part to the counter to match it up to the replacement.
Good luck.

I use http://www.oreillyauto.com, allows me to make sure I have the right part and check store inventory. Our local store keeps very little but I can call them and tell them to get the part I need from store X and I'll be by later to get them. I can make a shopping list right from the site, print it and carry it in with me. All they need do is pull the parts and scan them.

As stated previously, get mounts for a model prior to the 88 body style change and you'll be fine. Same thing applies if purchasing the urethane inserts. That staggered body style change confused all the parts books.

Autozone? My wife knows if we break down in a town when all the parts stores are closed, even if an Autozone is open we will be spending the night or waiting until a decent parts source opens. There is nothing there worth the pain.
