anyone have a smog pump and bracket that will fit an '86 K5?

just tried to have my K5 inspected and they wouldn't pass it because the smog pump mysteriously "fell off" :doah:

this was not an issue last year, but the tech guy said they are getting more strict even for just the underhood visual check. :dunno:

anyway, he said they would pass it if I at least slapped the smog pump and heat riser back on - no functional check, just visual.

anyone have a pump and bracket laying around to sell?

Thanks,
Rob

I have one on an '87 K10 that still turns. I don't think it has anything for a heat riser. I don't remember TBI trucks having that. How does $20 plus shipping sound?

will you include the pump bracket and the hoses/tubes that connect to it for $20 + shipping? :thumb:

I can do that for sure, I should have stated with brackets, but do you want the tubes in the exhaust manifolds? The size of those may increase shipping.

no thanks on the manifold tubes - I've got long tube headers so there's nothing to put the tubes into.

If you don't mind, let me try taking my Blazer to another inspection place first. If the second place won't pass it, then I'll buy your smog pump, etc.

I won't be able to get it over to try another place until Wednesday because of my work schedule the next couple of days. can you hang on to the smog pump a little longer?

And thanks for offering it up BTW. That's a great deal and will really help me out if I can't find a shop that will pass it.

That is fine with me. I haven't really started to part the truck out, so it just means I don't have to worry about taking the parts off! Let me know when you find out as I am not in a hurry to get it gone.

I think I still have all that stuff off my 86,in a box in the back of my shop.
Let me know and I can check and get it for you.

got it inspected!

like the title says, I managed to get my K5 inspected yesterday at lunch. took the advice here and just went someplace else. they did the safty check, lights, brakes, horn and I paid the $14.50 - done! :woot:

thanks for the posts guys.

and yeah, I agree, they are making it harder and harder to keep the old vehicles on the road.
