hello, i jus opend my hood today on my gmc jimmy to check the oil n stuff, and i noticed something that was never there before. theres little puddles of oil on my edlebrock intake manifold, were the bolts are that bolt the manifold down to the heads, on both sides of the carb. what could this be caused from? its never done this before. it has been pretty cold out here lately, im running 5-30w oil. any ideas? thanks in advance!

I've got the same problem with my edelbrock intake. It just recently started to do this. I would like to know what causes it and how to fix it as well.

It's common, you need to put some thread sealer on the bolts.

yeh common problem nothing to worry on really, check bolt torque, they like to loosen up, try to use sealer or even thread locker maybe, and/or lock washers,

Funny, I just posted that same question about a week ago. Just like they said, oil is leaking up the threads on the bolts. I removed the bolts, cleaned them up and put some permatex on the threads and put them back in.

Could It Be A Valve Cover
Highly unlikely, since the oil puddles to the low side on top of the head. 99.9% chance that it's the bolts leaking. It's an easy 5-minutes fix. :cool1:

Boy am I glad you asked that question! I have the same problem with my Edelbrock intake too. I just figured it was those pesky cork gaskets on the valve covers..... THanks to the orginal poster for asking and to everyone that answered. :D
