Kim and I are going on a road trip this weekend and I need to burn a couple of mixes. Can anyone suggest some good new music that's floating around out there? I enjoy everything, but Kim Can doesn't enjoy hardcore punk, death metal or country, so don't bother with those genres.......

    Bring tha noize, brothers!!!!!:D

You can have anything I have. Looks like 1145 MP3's ripped so far. Going to do my new Nightwish CD here in a minute.

Don't steal if you don't really have to

I really have to. CDs cost over $20 up here. Who's stealing from who?

FWIW, we buy CDs from artists we want to support.....

    how about...

I know theese singers are listed as "country",but I dont really consider them so--not like Waylon and Willie are anyway--but I love theese artists and their songs..

Kathy Mattea(more folky than country, with some jazz and celtic thrown in)

Suzy Bogguss(also more folky than country--she has a "western swing" CD called "Swing" thats really cool too!--some folks compare her with Nora Jones or Sheryl Crow..)

Martina Mcbride(more Adult Contemparary than country)

Rhonda Vincent(Traditional Bluegrass!,so Kim might not like her--but her voice is one of the best!--and a talented mandolin and violin player too!)

Guess you can tell I like the female vocalists best!

Sometimes I go on long trips too--I have a casette tape I made with all the "road" songs, like "On The Road Again","Highway Star"and all the old trucking songs, and some other foot tapping music to help pass the time--anythings better than the radio--that'll bore you to death and cause you to crash... :frown1:
