Never knew ya needed a 6x6.....

3 M35 trucks here. A REO Gasser, parts Gasser and a Whistler multifuel. They are so close to being practical. Yet so far from being practical at the same time. Always fun though.

Those are fun!
Yeah, it was a lucky find when I lived in north Mississippi. Back in Colorado, it unfortunately was driveway art until a neighbor started bitchin' about my '77 K5 and mule being in my drive. The mule is in the backyard carrying 3/4 ton axles that will eventually go on my '79 K5. The '77 K5 now has collector tags in the driveway. '79 K5 parked in the street.

I can't decide on my next project...rebuilt the mule engine or spring/axle swap between '77 and '79 while checking out the 3/4 ton axles.

These guys are where I was a few years back. Bought a deuce, got is stuck to the axles. Bought a 5 ton to pull out the deuce when I was a little ambitious. The started muddying the 5 ton and needed something to extract it so I bought a 10 ton tank recovery....it's a vicious cycle. Worse than crack if you like green iron.

Green iron vehicles are herd animals. I went big and then small because you have to keep getting more. Counting trailers I think I am up to 14 MV’s now. My wife says I am a sick, sick man.

I moved west to the mountains and culled my herd. Unfortunately having no use for them here and started collecting Chevy trucks. I think it's about the same thing k-30's are pack animals as well. They do much better with several around to keep them company. I never realized I had a problem until I got my M-984a1 10 ton. My wife said I needed to reassess my life choices. HA!

Stuck to the axles, that never happens.........

Front and rear winches were not working yet, and the ground had a thin hard crust followed by bottomless muck. His cargo truck had been buried over the hood in the lake. Got him that far with the crane before I sank through the crust. Skid steer sank as well.

Wow, long fix to get them out.

I was told he got stuck in the lake around 5pm. Mutual friend called me about 10pm after they had been trying to get him out and he had received a ticket. My wreckers' front winch didn't work and rear winch had rusted through cable so not usable. They'd been trying to tug him out with 5 1 ton trucks and no success. Beach looked and felt solid so backed onto it and tried with my tow strap. Couple pulls with no change and my tires had only gone down about 2-3" into the surface. So setup the outriggers, angled the crane up, hooked onto his front recovery points then lifted the front of his cargo truck up and dragged it closer to my truck (his air brake lines had been severed under the water so were locked up). That's when the wrecker sank. Tried to drag him up alongside the wrecker onto the beach but crane wouldn't do it. Tried the 5 1 tons attached to the front of the wrecker with no luck so called in a wrecker company why showed up with the skid steer.

Going for his second scoop is when it sank so he called in their 35 ton wrecker. Parked further up the beach he dragged us out one at a time, required a 4 line pull to get my m816 wrecker out. All finished at roughly 7am

Honestly the best one I ever has was a bobbed deuce on 53" michelins. That think would go ANYWHERE...sort of the same theory as a Toyota with big wide tires. It actually floated over the ground and most obstacles. It was pretty awesome that even a truck that heavy could get in and out of chest deep mud without an issue. (Most times). The downside to having any large piece of equipment or MV is that IF you manage to get it stuck, getting it out is going to be expensive. Unless you have another BIGGER piece of equipment...HA!

I would really love to have a 5ton wrecker... Endless usefulness.

From engine picks to moving stuff around. Setting beams/trusses for small buildings, uprooting trees to clear land...

My M35A2 is great for any tree smaller than I can hug getting ripped out of the ground roots and all. I use it for that a lot.
