New 1990 k5 blazer project

Awesome I just pulled out the ruler I'm at 12.5 inches from tube to frame give or take a half inch for error... Anyone else with a 4 inch lift have a measurement of it?

Well today I pulled off the shitty tire holder, I'm left with about a dozen 9mm sized holes in my back right panel, I was going to just plug them with plastic for now and fix that one when I painted it, there's no rust in SoCal...

On a side note my stupid electric window on the tailgate is now jammed halfway open... I'm gonna rip into that one next week, hopefully I can get it shut, not sure why it won't, the motor works I can hear it going, but the window won't budge

There's been several threads about those windows on here over the years, hopefully you can find the right info.

So will a handful of spent 9mm casings fill those holes properly, just epoxy them in and presto! Preferably don't paint over them, more classy that way.

:haha:

What's your plan for the tire carrier? I'll pay cash$$$!

Former Army, but I was embed with 1st MEF back in OEF1. We had some fun. Semper Fi!

Climb in and take the plate off the tail gate. If it is cable operated ( which it is on both my 90 and 91), the cable it's probably corroded. Common problem on these. Cable is about 39 bucks IIRC. Cable ends just need to be pinched correctly and they slide off. HOLD THE WINDOW UP. After you install the new cable gob a bunch of grease around the cable ends to keep water out. If it is not the cable you can at least use a drill to run the window up until you figure out the problem.

Did any one chimed in on this?
Neebie here, long time reader, just signed up, and do not want to hijack the tread but I'm on the same issue, and did the search before posting and got here.

I have a 1990 too, mines white, and I suppose its lifted as it runs on 35", but only see what seems to be aftermarket shackles, and BTW ride quality is CRAP!
I want to know what I have, to see what or how can I replace it to get a decent ride.

If you want an awesome ride go with coil overs from. off road design
I bet those are awesome, but for my needs (and wallet) a good ol' stock suspension will do it, my blazer is a pavement queen (unfortunately for her!)
