Anybody using them? I am thinking about getting a set of 35's for my 72. It will be 50/50 street and offroad. How are they holding up for you guys. I have always had good luck with the AT's. Thanks

I'd like to know how they do also. Never even seen them up close yet. It seems like at first they only had odd sizes for 17" wheels but theyre coming out with more and more sizes. I'm considering these or maxxis bighorns when I need new tires in a few months.

I am seriously considering a set....probably the 38" - 40" sizes. The cost climbs REALLY fast in the larger sizes, so that is a consideration. Plus I'll need to buy new 17" wheels to replace my current 16.5" ones, which adds even more cost.

The reviews indicate that they are a good capable tire offroad, and behave like a radial should on the street. Haters will say they aren't as good as the sticky Krawlers, but BFG won't offer those in anything larger than 37" so it's a non-comparison for me.

In a 35" size, it seems like you have plenty of choices. If you liked the BFG AT (not a particularly great offroad tire, IMHO) you are probably going to be thrilled with something like the KM2 as a replacement.

:usaflag:

Ive got a brand new set of the old 35x12.50s BFG M/Ts on some rims at undisclosed location.

Anyone want them? only a 50% markup for heritage reasons:wink1:

I think the KM2s look like a solid tire. BFG makes some good tires so I wouldnt be afraid to run them.

I have seen 1 person running 35's and they seem to work well. If the tires over 37" would not cost an arm and a leg I would consider a set of 40's.

my buddy runs old style on the front and the new ones on the back, im really suprised at how well they do in the mud for how they look. i didnt expect much out of them but they do really good in the stuff we've got. theyve got lots of forward traction points in the lugs so they bite pretty well.

I've got the old style muds on my Jimmy and I'm pretty satisfied with them on the street and in the mud. They've held up well to street driving, and they're probably 10 years old. Not even dry rotted or cracking yet. But they are permanently stained with mud and won't shine up no matter how many cans of tire shine or degreaser I use, they still look like crap.

I put on the old style KMs, of course right before they came out with KM2. I have 16s so I would have had to wait a while until they came out with my size.
The only advantage I could see, from the mags reviews, is the new ones are quieter on asphault.. Nothing wrong with that, I know my KMs are tractor loud. Once you get going on the Highway, it doesn't matter.
In sand, they are awesome.
