New Goodyear MT/R\'s, reviews??

I am going to order a set of 35's this week and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these "new" tires. I read a post a little while back about someone that just bought a set. Don't remember who it was but if you are reading this are you still happy? Do you still like them now that they are a little older? Are they quieter than the old MT's? How are they off road? Anyone have any personal experience or hear any information or stories good or bad? I am going to end up with them eventually but I like to hear peoples real world stories. Besides people here could probably give a better idea than the manufacturer and better reviews than a magazine that uses them for one trip getting paid to say their great. No better reviews for products than personal experience from people here!

Most of the mags and offroad sites reviewed them when they first came out. They all had good thing to say. Keith has them on his Blazer but I dont think he is back on line, yet. They worked great on his truck at Tellico and the last time I saw him he was still happy with them. Jim.

Excellent, good to hear. I ordered my set of 35's last night. Only problem is I have to wait about two weeks for them to come in. Sounds like its worth the wait though. I was a little upset at first that they discontinued the MT's that I have had for many years but it sounds like I will be happier with the new MT/R's

Re: New Goodyear MT/R\'s, reviews??

I have had a set of 35" MT/R's for several months now. They seem to be pretty comparable to the BFG MT's they replaced as far as street manners. I put very few highway miles on them besides driving to the trail so I don't know how they will wear on the street. Off-road they seem to work very good on the dirt and mud and I would say they are better than the BFG's (I have had two sets of these) but my last set were only 33's so it makes it a little more difficult to compare the two tires since the extra height does make a difference. I really like the sidewall lugs for both extra traction in ruts, and more importantly, sidewall protection. The BFG's sidewalls were really getting chewed up after a year or so of trailriding, while the MT/R's don't have a mark on them.
So far I am really happy with them.

Just got this pic from a friend.............
Yeah, the MT/R's are good in mud, but the 4' deep mud hole was a little too much for them.........

Re: New Goodyear MT/R\'s, reviews??

I really doubt that any other tire would have made a difference in this hole. By the time I came to a complete stop all four tires would just sit and spin with the engine at an idle. There were also very steep ledges going into, and coming out of the hole, so steep that my front tow hooks were getting hung up trying to climb out of it.
