new here and need info

Yesir I greatly NEED this place. As you can see from my previous questions.... As you could also see, I don't ask anything anymore simply because this has become more of a fundraiser more than a help forum. There was a time where I did ask questions but anymore all you guys do is criticize guys for either not paying or being unintelligible about a chevy. Oh and yah, get over it, it's the INTER****INGNET, not everyone types or should I say writes as well as you.

Dang someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Or did you get kicked outa bed and just pissed off so you had to take it out on someone?

I understand where you are coming from though. I too have questions I would like to ask but I don't because I don't wanna hear the.... "Become a member and you can use the search button." I do plan on becoming a member just as soon as I have money and time to invest into my rig because I think this site has ALOT of info that would help me WHILE I am upgrading my ride. I know membership isn't alot but as for now I am just gathering info on what to do and saving my money for upgrades.

As far as making your post easier to read. I think that they are right about that one. It doesn't take much to add a little punctuation and capitalization to make your post a hell of a lot easier to read. I think Fabjunkie was trying to tell him that if he makes his post a little more legible then he might get more responses to his question. Though he could have asked it differently. For example sometimes if I get to a post that is all caps I just move on. I hate reading that crap.

Ohh, booo-friggin-hooo..... :haha:

Rarely a question goes unanswered around here. Yet the occasional poke about actually contributing with tech or finances and your all butt-hurt.. Sounds like a guilty conscience to me...

I've been watching it for years in here.. People come in here asking a million questions, and contribute nothing... Thanks for the imput...

As far as proper grammar, the internet is no excuse for being too lazy to make things legible.. If they can't take the time to make their question discernable, why should I take the extra time to decipher it? Isn't it enough your taking the time to help someone, but then you have to figure out the riddle too?

The difference is you've been around months, have seen the value of this place and are considering contributing.. And certainly putting in some tech to help out...

Guys like this, lurk around here for years, take what they can for free (after all, it is the INTERF*CKINGNET, it should be free  ) and contribute nothing...

Impressive how you come into someone else's house and bitch about the etiquette.

alright, well im still woundering about how you guys said, that, if i put 38" on my truck, that the frame will crack. I just want to know how, and why, and where it would happen. also point me in the direction of how the GM axles and Danas are diffrent/alike. i talked to my buddys and they said there diffrent, in a couple ways, the dana is stronger was their main point. also i talked to my girlfriends dad and he said that the dana 44 and the GM 10 blt are designed the same, but have diffrent gearing, spline, axles, and the dana is wider and thicker in diameter. so i guess just let me know how you guys think that there the same. thanks

alright, well im gonna stick with swappin in the D44 and the 14blt, reason being, the 14 rear is an 8 lug and the D44 front is an 8 lug same length, and im redoing the gearing in the diffs. but still my question has not been answered, why and how will my axles/frame brake or crack if i put 38" tires on as opposed to my 33s.

jms said:
I think the reference to the frame possibly cracking pertains to the area of the frame where the steering box is mounted. Larger tires such as 38s just increase the forces on what is a high-stress area to begin with. A bolt-in brace triangulating the area is available from ORD, as is a weld-in kit to either repair the area or to prevent cracks.
ok, well if thats all there talking about then im not gonna worry about that, on friday im ordering the bolt on brace. if there is any thing else i should look out for then let me know, i already knew about the steering box-to-frame problem. also, does anyone else have problems with the body where the tail gate attaches to? cause mine is rusted through, if there are any repair kits, or things i can do please let me know, thanks

Well its nice to see another illinois resident on ck5. The GM 10-bolt and Dana 44 are about the same when it comes to strength. So swapping one out for the other is pointless unless the axle your going to put in is an 8-lug and you'r also putting a 14bff in the rear.

The 10-bolt that came in the front of 89-91 k-5's is 30-spline so its a little stronger than the older 10-bolt/dana44s. Spring spacing is going to be the same for all the gm 10-bolts and d44's

yeah, i got my truck from des planes. i didnt think too much about why my friend sugested that i change the front to a d44, and now i know cause the 14bolt is an 8 lug and hte 10 is a 6 and the d44 is an 8, so thats my reasoning, i think my buddy wants to put 4.56 gears in the diffs, and a 208 case.
off topic but where do you go wheelin? and have you ever been out to bartlett on RT20? theres a pretty hard core place out there that i used to go to untill it got cold anyway we should go wheelin when i get my stuff togeather, or if the place you go isnt to brutal ill go now

That place you are talkin about, is there an abandoned jeep cherokee there? I've been toa place in bartlett it was off of the elgin/ohare xpressway, it was really cool but last march my buddy and i went there and got both our trucks stuck.

we had to call a friend to get us out and it took forever, broke two straps. and didn't get out till midnight. The cops were wating for us when we got to the main road, they b*ched us out and we have never been there since. Here's a pic we took from one of the times we went.

And here i am trying to climb up the abandoned cherokee(my tires kept slipping)

Man this place is starting to sound like Pirate! Dont worry about being a paid member, after you learn some stuff about your new ride you will be happy to forgo a weekend without partying to shell out the $25.

If you are dead set on spending the $$ put the 14 in and swap the outers on the 10 bolt to make it 8 lug all the way around. That might save you a little time.

2. Pay the man and become a member.

Give the guy a break, it takes alot to put up a first post like he did intorducing himself. Why don't you start encouraging the newbies ya dick!!!

X2 Get to know the website and surf for awhile. Believe me you will definitly want to be a member! Also off topic- Did you buy your blazer already lifted and if so is it primer grey with some flames on it? I used to see one like that drving around town.

EDIT* i just re-read your first post, its not grey duh!

yeah thats the place, i went there 2 times both times i got stuck, not cause the truck coldent make it, because the freakin distributer couldent, the first time was my own damn fault, we were rompin and what not then we were leaving, going down the trail where that big mud pit is by the jeep, and we hit a couple hard ruts, and it died, this was probably 12am then my buddy with a jeep pulled us out (belive it or not) 6" long arm, 33" boggers) turned out that the positive plug for the cap fell out, and all i did was plug it back in and we were fine, but that night i didnt get home till 5am cause he blew the bead off his tire, then we got pulled over, fun night but damn it was hell. the next weekend we went to the same place, and the big bog right by the jeep i got stuck, this time the rotor broke, and she had to spend the night, got here out then we were leaving going down the trail (the lower part where the ruts are deap as hell and it had been raining the hole night) bottomed out and got stuck again, then later my budd with a ram 8" lift 38" m/ts dullie and a 12000lb winch pulled me out. damn that was a fun weekend. yes i bought my truck already lifted, really havent done much to it ive only had it for about a month, basic stuff, just put a curve kit in it cause i had NO bottom at all. ill think about the 6-8 lug conversion, the only thing i see being a problem is that the d44 and 14 bolt are the same length and the 14 and 10 ar diffrent, the 10 is shorter. and mxfireman thanks i was almost thinking about leaving cause i didnt really see anyone on here with good info that could help me out, all i saw was fix your sentances and pay and become a member, now i know theres real people on this site. im definatly going back to that place off of RT20 most likly this spring, after i get my tires at least, hopefully my axles, gears, bumpers, roll bar, soft top and some more stuff. friday or saturday im gonna order the steering box brace from ORD its like what 120? fix a problem that hasent started yet. anyway if there are any places you know off thats good for like trails and hills let me know, thanks

oh, man thats sweet. Next time you go let me know, ill go with you, although my trucks going through a tear down and won't be ready till next spring/summer. And after that It wont be very street friendly(im welding the rear diff). We got stuck near that dually trailer axle. where the trail turns around that axle, we kept on going straight instead of turning and ended up getting both trucks stuck in the cattails.

You got AIM? my screenname is muddermilitia123 and my email is [email protected]

Well I am tired of people like you who come behind all the noObs to wipe their ass when they don't know how to communicate clearly in the world. This may only be the interweb, but how you communicate here is a representation of what kind of person you are. If you are too lazy to make your posts read-able, then you are probably the kind who ask me to help you do something, then stand on the sideline and watch me do all the work.

redk-5 is the first guy I've said anything about that too. The following is why........

This is after not only I pointed out the obvious to him about more responses with a cleaner post. In fact it got worse since his first post. And it's idiots like you that reinforce to them that it is ok to be an illiterate moron who can't type.

Besides the over abundant use of comma's, no punctuation, real sentences, or paragraphs I guess it's easy to read. I have no problem helping someone out, no matter how small the problem. I do however have a problem reading 5 paragraphs worth of type in one long run on sentence. I know there a lot of other guys on here that are the same way. I'm not a translator by day, so I don't want to decipher people's messages just to give them an answer that has been posted on time and time again, cheese dick. :D

alright fabjunkie, your almost good enought to be an english teacher :waytogo:.
alright.
would, you. like, me. to. type, like, this,
is. there. enought, commas,
and, periods. here, for, you?
not tryin to be a dick but seriously, if you cant or dont want to read it then dont, it wasnt refering to you anyway.

and again not refering to you fabjunkie.
my AIM is WarpedRevolution
and email is [email protected] im rarely on aim but i check my mail everyday, ill definatly give you a holler if i go anywhere worth while, good luck with welding the rear.
im not going back to that place till i get my tires, and my buddys gonna bring his truck, its a 78 K25 4" (for now soon to be 6" with a 2" body) with 36" TSL/SX (wich are being changed for 38.5 bias ply TSL/SX, and mine with the 6" it has and 38" bias ply tsl/sx and the d44 front and 14bolt rear and possably a diffrent case.
again good luck with the truck build this winter

Hey man, welcome to the site. There is alot of info here, and people to help you out. I believe that you will become a paying member after a while. That is the way I started. This place becomes like a second home if you give it a chance. There was no need for all of the trash talking at the start. That is not how it usually works here. I do believe, however, that you will get more, and better, responses if you will try and make your posts a little easier to read for the other people here. So, help us help you.

Glad to have ya,
Leper

First off there are alot better ways of doing what you did. Second off, I don't wipe any newbie's ass in here at all. I pointed out it takes alot of courage to throw your first post out there and then have a prick like your self slam him. Grant it, he may not have the best grammer in world wide web, but here take a look of how an intelligent response that leper gave instead of being a dick like you.
