Shift pattern for the NP 208 (and 241)

All the way forward toward the dash is 2HI, pull back one notch is 4HI. Directly back from that is N, then the shifter needs to be pushed over laterally and pulled all the way back for 4LO.

Low range is 2.61:1.

The only real drawback to the 208 aside from the aluminum case is the lack of a SYE kit for it.

this was on a NP241. The benefits are added driveline length, which translates into less driveline angle. Slip section becomes in line with the driveline itself, rather than at an angle. This eliminates binding/clunking in the slip section. Rear driveline can be removed without any fluid loss (trail damage etc etc). Easier to convert to a CV rear shaft.
